The Dutch Leather and Shoe Museum library is a treasure trove for those interested in leather and shoes. It hosts a collection consisting of over 7000 titles. Subjects vary from shoemaking and shoe fashion history to contemporary shoe design, from hides to kid, from tanner to shoemaker and from Europe to China.
A large quantity of textbooks and standard works on the subject of leather chemistry are also available. If you need specific information about the Dutch shoe and leather trade, you might want to take a look at the complete multi journal volumes ranging from the last quarter of the 19th century through to modern times.

On this page we will try to keep you informed on a regular basis about our latest acquisitions. If you'd like to visit our library, we advise you to make an appointment. We regret that no items can be loaned but our entire collection can be consulted during museum opening hours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
